best ever spag bog



This is a super quick and easy sauce that tastes rich without being oily.  I like to use a thick spaghetti or bucatini 

  • small tin tomato paste
  • 2 tins peeled tomatoes
  • 500g mince beef
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • 1 small red chilli (slice through nearly to end)
  • 3 bacon stock cubes

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a largish saucepan, add garlic and chilli and cook gently for 1 minute.  Add tin tomatoes, tomato paste and mince beef. Stir through to thoroughy mix. Break up tomatoes by mashing them with either a fork or  potato masher. Add bacon cubes. Cook for 10 minutes. Remove garlic and chilli.

Serve with freshly grated parmesan, black pepper and chopped basil.

Serves 4 (generously)
